OUR STORY SO FAR

TREASURE → RECEIVE → GROW → SOW → MAKE ROOM → FORGIVE

🔓 4th Study — FORGIVE

SUNDAY’S MESSAGE — Marshall

Matthew 18:21–35

This week, Marshall challenged us with Jesus’ story of the unforgiving servant and the truth that God’s Kingdom runs on mercy.

Peter asks Jesus how many times he is required to forgive, but Jesus moves the conversation away from keeping count. He tells the story of a servant who is forgiven an unpayable debt, yet refuses to forgive the much smaller debt of another.

The story reminds us that forgiveness begins with remembering how much mercy we have already received.

When we hold tightly to someone’s offense, we may think we are keeping them captive—but bitterness can imprison us too.

"Forgiveness means setting the captive free. YOU are the captive. So, for Christ's sake, forgive, and be free." BILL GOANS

LOOKING FORWARD TO THURSDAY 10.8.26, 6:30pm

Come having spent some time with Matthew 18:21–35 and this week’s devotionals.

And come with one question—something you’re wondering about, wrestling with, or noticing about forgiveness.

It doesn’t have to be a polished question.

Just bring the question that is honestly on your heart.

Something to think about before we gather:

Who is actually being held captive when I refuse to forgive?

See you Thursday.
